Dispensary (2017)

watercolour, bags, wood panel

25.5″ x 16″

Dispensary is a series of 2.5” x 3.5” watercolour paintings hung on a found wood panel.  The bags, employed as frames for the paintings, are used to display the product in Cannabis stores and lounges.  The language of retail display is utilized to look ahead toward legalization, and repetition is used to reference the commonplace.  The cheerful eye catching colours are associated with product branding, and the found wood panel is used to evoke the haphazard set up of many dispensaries.
